Cory Nelson is Sr. Executive, Product Management, GE Distributed Power, and leads a large development program.
Cory began his career as a Research Engineer with Allis-Chalmers Corp. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1981. He joined the Waukesha Engine Division of Dresser Industries as an Application Engineer in 1985 and moved through roles in marketing, sales, operations and engineering, ultimately holding the titles of VP-Mfg and VP-Engr. In 1999, he moved to Houston, TX to become the VP-Mfg, Americas, for the Dresser Valve Division, with responsibility for ten plants from Canada to Brazil.
In 2004, Cory joined GE Energy as the Global Marketing Leader for Aero Energy. He was appointed General Manager, LM6000 Product Line in 2006, and added the LM2500 in 2011. He won Power & Water Leadership Awards in 2009 and 2012 for product line competitiveness. He assumed his current position in February, 2012.
Cory holds a BS degree in Agricultural Engineering from North Dakota State University and a MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University.
Cory and his wife, LaRae, have two adult children and reside in Missouri City, TX.
